Welcome to LaserLaotian in Unicode for Windows and
Macintosh (hereafter LaserLaotianU). This exciting product provides two
Unicode-encoded Laotian fonts, supporting Laotian, plus English and other west
European Latin-1 languages, so you can type Laotian and English (etc.) without
changing fonts.
LaotianLSU is a sans serif font, provided in
plain (regular), bold, italic, and bold-italic
typestyles.

LaoSukanyaLSU is a font with contrasting stroke
thicknesses, provided in
plain (regular), bold, italic, and bold-italic
typestyles.

LaserLaotianU includes keyboard software
allowing easy, logical input of Laotian. It automatically positions vowels and tone marks
as you type. Both a phonetic layout (based on
the US keyboard) and a standard Laotian layout are included. Keyboard
support for English and other supported Latin languages is also provided.
LaserLaotianU for Windows
and LaserLaotianU for Macintosh are
fully compatible with
each other. Documents typed with these fonts may be transferred back and forth
between Windows and Macintosh with no conversion necessary as long the fonts are
installed on both computers, and compatible software is used. (Please be
sure you understand the System Requirements for
Windows and
Macintosh before you order.)
Cost: US$
99.95 for either LaserLaotian
LaotianLSU or LaserLaotian LaoSukanyaLSU, or
$149.95 for LaserLaotian Professional in Unicode,
which includes both fonts.

LaserLaotian in Unicode for Windows
LaserLaotian in Unicode for Windows provides high-quality, Unicode-encoded
Laotian fonts (described
above) in TrueType® format for typing
Laotian, plus English and other Latin-1 languages.
LaserLaotian in Unicode
for Windows includes four keyboard layouts that provide four-characters-per-key input
(instead of the normal two) in Windows Vista and XP.
 |
The LaotianLSU Translit keyboard layout
is a transliterated keyboard arrangement, with the Laotian letters
matched by sound as far as possible to the US keyboard. |
 |
The LaotianLSU Standard keyboard
layout is a standard Laotian layout. |
 |
The EnglishLS OT keyboard layout allows the user to type
English and other western Latin-based languages easily, in
applications that support OpenType features for Latin. (This
includes Microsoft Office 2007 and 2003,
OpenOffice.org 3.0,
and InDesign CS4.) The user types a letter, then the accent, and the
keyboard software adds the accent, perfectly positioned. This
keyboard allows the user to
toggle from either of the LaotianLS keyboards into the EnglishLS OT keyboard
and type English, French, German, Spanish, etc., without changing
fonts. |
 |
The EnglishLS keyboard layout allows the user to type
English and other western Latin-based languages easily, using deadkey
input, in applications that support Laotian, but which do not support
OpenType features for Latin. (This includes Microsoft Word 2002 and Word
2000.) The user first presses a key representing the accent, and nothing
appears to happen on screen. Then the user presses a letter, and the
keyboard software places the combined letter with its accent in the
document. This keyboard allows the user to
toggle from either of the LaotianLS keyboards into the EnglishLS keyboard
and type English, French, German, Spanish, etc., without changing
fonts. |
