Six Professional-quality, hinted Kurdish fonts in both TrueType® and Type-1 formats. LaserKurdish includes four fonts in Arabic script, one in Roman and one in Cyrillic. The KurdishRoman and KurdishCyrillic fonts come in plain, bold, italic, and bold-italic (Times®-style). The four Arabic fonts are plain style only. The KurdishRoman font contains all the characters for Kurdish, English and Turkish. The KurdishCyrillic font contains the characters for Kurdish, Russian, and English. Five keyboard layouts are included, two for Arabic (traditional Arabic layout and phonetic), two for Cyrillic (traditional Russian and transliterated), and one for Roman script. The Cyrillic keyboards switch back and forth between English and Cyrillic Kurdish (or Russian) just by pressing the caps lock key.

Simply select text and change fonts to change scripts! The fonts in LaserKurdish are arranged to allow the user to type in any of the scripts, and by simply selecting the text and changing the font, the text will be changed into the other script. For example, you can type Kurdish in Roman script, select the text and change the font to LateefiKurdish. You will instantly have Kurdish in Arabic script from right to left!

Switching between Roman and Cyrillic scripts requires no special software. Writing in Arabic Kurdish requires the standard Apple® Arabic resources (Arabic Language Kit) and an Arabic-compatible word processor (such as Nisus® Writer). System Requirements: Includes keyboard software for Arabic Kurdish, Roman Kurdish, and Cyrillic Kurdish. (Note that Arabic Kurdish has different requirements from Roman Kurdish or Cyrillic Kurdish.) The keyboard software for Arabic Kurdish requires OS 7.1-9.x or an OS X system that can boot into OS 9 (not just into the Classic system--the computer must be able to boot into OS 9). The user must install the Apple Arabic Language Kit (from the OS 9 CD), or have the Macintosh Arabic Operating System. Arabic Kurdish also requires a WorldScript 1-compatible application, such as Nisus Writer, or PageMaker ME. The keyboard software for Roman Kurdish and Cyrillic Kurdish requires OS 7.1-9.2 or OS X version 10.2 and following. (These alternate keyboards do not support OS X 10.0 or 10.1, which do not allow installation of alternate keyboard resources.)
