LaserIPA in Unicode
for Windows has been released. Now you can easily type all
characters and diacritics in the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA)
standard in a Unicode-compatible font. Our original LaserIPA product
includes the font used to publish the official Journal of the IPA.
Now you can get the same font in a Unicode-compatible format, with
exceptional ease of input provided by OpenType® layout features built into
the font and supported by Microsoft Word 2003. LaserIPA in Unicode provides
a professional-quality IPA font in TrueType® OpenType format, in plain and
bold weights. The font includes not only the standard Unicode "IPA
Extensions" characters, but also the "Spacing Modifiers" and "Combining
Diacritics" sections of the Unicode Standard. The font also includes many
letters and symbols that were once part of the IPA but are now obsolete, and
some letters and symbols that were used as IPA letters and symbols but have
never been officially adopted into the IPA. The font also includes the Latin
1 and Extended Latin character sets providing English and other western
languages such as French and German. Be sure to see the font
samples, including samples of the easy input method
for stacking multiple diacritics. Released November 11, 2003.

Semitic Transliterator in Unicode
for Windows has been released. Now you can easily transliterate
Semitic languages plus Greek and Coptic using Unicode-encoded fonts, which provide
perfect positioning of all accented letters needed in the 21 transliteration
methods supported by the fonts. This product is available in six typestyles
and includes two keyboard layouts. Users who own Microsoft Word 2003 can
benefit from the OpenType layout features in the fonts for the most logical,
intuitive input possible: letter, accent, accent. Word 2003 will
automatically build up the accented letter as you type. Users of all other
Unicode-aware applications can use the Deadkey keyboard layout for easy
typing of accented letters using deadkey input. Be sure to see the lovely
font samples and read product
details. Released October 10, 2003.

A new font has been added to
LaserUgaritic. UgariticLSB, with black (filled) wedges, is now
included in the product, along with the original UgariticLS, which has open
(unfilled) wedges. These two fonts contain all 37 signs in the Ugaritic
alphabet, and the signs are now centered vertically. The fonts are compatible between the Windows and Macintosh
versions, allowing transfer of files between platforms with no conversion
necessary. Release date was September 30, 2003.

A new font has been added both to
LaserIPA and to TransRoman Dictionary. The
PhoneticOx II font (PhoneticOxII) contains the characters and symbols
used in the Oxford English Dictionary, 2nd Ed., and the OED CD version. Both
products still include the original PhoneticOx font, containing the symbols
used in the Oxford English Dictionary, 1st Ed. LaserIPA includes a
Times-style and Helvetica-style. The TransRoman Dictionary version of the
font is available in Times-, Helvetica-, and Palatino-styles. These products
are available for Windows or Macintosh. Released September 23, 2003.

A new Greek font has been added to the
LaserGreek in Unicode product. The HellenicaU
Greek font is now available for both Windows and Macintosh versions of
LaserGreek in Unicode. This beautiful TrueType font is optimized for
classical Greek, but includes all standard accents, breathing marks, iota
subscripts and diereses used in Biblical and classical Greek. It has
similarities in style to the SymbolGreekU font but has tilde-shaped
circumflex accents (perispomeni). The HellenicaU font (along with OdysseaU
and OdysseaUBSU) have extra characters in them used in epigraphical and
textual studies, and in Greek poetry. These extra characters are not in the
other fonts in the LaserGreek in Unicode product series and were added to
HellenicaU, OdysseaU, and OdysseaUBSU with this update. Finally, all fonts
in the product series have new, additional characters in them, including
alternate capital letters with iota subscripts. Users who own Microsoft Word
2003 will be interested in the new keyboard layout that has been added to
the product. This keyboard makes use of the OpenType layout features now
built into the fonts. Font samples are available on the
LaserGreek in Unicode product page. This update was released September
15, 2003.

A Unicode-encoded version of EuroSlavic for Windows has been released.
EuroSlavic in Unicode for Windows provides
professional-quality, Unicode-encoded TrueType® fonts in seven typestyles
for typing all Western and Central European Latin-based languages, plus
other languages. The fonts include all standard diacritics used in these
languages. Because the EuroSlavic in Unicode fonts include separate
composite forms of each vowel with each diacritic combination, every letter
shape and diacritic is perfectly positioned. Because the fonts are
Unicode-encoded they are interchangeable with other Unicode fonts that
support these languages. The product includes a keyboard layout that
provides four-characters-per-key input in Windows XP, Windows 2000 and
Windows NT4. Released January 20, 2003.
